An early morning fire damaged a house used as a motorcycle repair shop in Parit Buntar, destroying 20 bikes with no casualties reported.
PARIT BUNTAR: A fire has destroyed 20 motorcycles at a residential property being used as a repair shop and storage facility.
The blaze broke out in the early hours at a house on Lorong Parit 1 in Titi Serong.
Acting assistant director of Operations for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah, said firefighters were alerted at 1.50 am.
“The fire also partially damaged a Honda FD,” he said.
Shazlean confirmed there were no casualties in the incident.
He added that approximately 70% of the structure was damaged by the fire.
It is believed the destroyed motorcycles included a mix of new and old models.
Some of the bikes are reported to have belonged to customers of the workshop.
The firefighting operation involved crews from the Parit Buntar station.
Four local volunteer fire units also assisted in the response.
The operation was fully concluded by 5.50am.
