Seri Selangor appoints Japanese teen Daichi Hayashi and Malaysian pro Allycia Gan as ambassadors, strengthening its elite lineup.
KELAB Golf Seri Selangor has strengthened its ambassador line-up with the signing of two rising talents: 15-year-old Japanese amateur Daichi Hayashi and Malaysian professional Allycia Gan.
The duo joins an established group of Seri Selangor ambassadors comprising Marcus Lim, Zia Izzuddeen, Syahiran Syakir, Malcolm Ting, Zulaikah Nasser, Afif Fathi, and Amir Nazrin, as the club continues to invest in promising players across different stages of their golfing careers.
Rising Japanese Talent
Based in Malaysia since the age of 10, Daichi Hayashi has emerged as one of the Asia-Pacific region’s most exciting young amateurs, recording a series of impressive performances over the past few years.
Among his notable achievements, Daichi captured the 2024 Saujana Amateur Championship despite being one of the youngest competitors in the field. He also claimed victory at last year’s Selangor Junior Masters at Seri Selangor, a triumph that earned him a coveted start in the PKNS Selangor Masters.
Currently a student at Dwi Emas International School, Daichi trains under the PKNS Golf Academy at Seri Selangor.
“I played this golf course when I first came to Malaysia, and my family and I loved it. Since then, I’ve been practising here almost every day,” said Daichi, who turns 16 on March 5.
“Seri Selangor has always felt like my home course. The people here are really friendly and welcoming, and the course is challenging — you never know what’s going to happen. It’s a pleasure and an honour to be part of the Seri Selangor team, and hopefully I can gain more experience and more victories.”
A New Chapter for Allycia Gan
Allycia Gan turned professional in January 2025 following a distinguished amateur career, highlighted by four seasons representing the University of North Alabama (UNA) on the competitive United States collegiate circuit.
During her time at UNA, Allycia secured three tournament victories, graduated with Summa Cum Laude honours in 2024, and was named the UNA women’s golf team’s Most Valuable Player in the same year. She also received multiple academic and sporting accolades, including the All-Conference Scholar Athlete Award in 2021.
In 2026, Allycia will divide her playing schedule between events on the China LPGA Tour and Malaysia’s domestic Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour.
“I’m really grateful to be given this opportunity to be part of the Seri Selangor ambassador team,” said the 23-year-old.
“This is a very challenging golf course, even for professionals. It’s not long, but the layout is narrow and forces you to think carefully about shot placement. It’s an excellent practice ground.”
“Last year was definitely challenging as my first season as a professional, but I learned a lot. My short-term goal is to win a local event, and my ultimate goal is to qualify for the LPGA Tour.”
A Championship-Calibre Venue
Designed by renowned Australian architect Ross Watson, the Seri Selangor Golf Course is widely regarded as one of Malaysia’s most demanding layouts, characterised by tight fairways, strategic bunkering, and fast, undulating greens.
Since its establishment in 1998, the club has hosted numerous high-profile tournaments, including:
