Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the Bandar Enstek Hospital will be fully completed by 2032, benefiting over 700,000 residents.
SEREMBAN: The Bandar Enstek Hospital, to be developed on a 50-acre (20.23-hectare) site in Bandar Baru Enstek, is expected to be fully completed and operational by 2032, enhancing healthcare capacity and improving access to medical services for more than 700,000 residents in Seremban and surrounding areas.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said construction of the 350-bed major specialist hospital was now at the final stage of Federal land acquisition from the Ministry of Higher Education. He said construction is expected to commence as early as 2028 following the completion of the land acquisition process.
“An allocation of RM30 million for land acquisition and preliminary works for projects under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) has been announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the 2026 Budget.
“When completed, the facility is expected to benefit more than 700,000 residents in Seremban, Nilai, Labu, Lenggeng, Seremban 2, Sendayan and nearby areas, thereby easing the burden on Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital as the state’s main referral hospital,” he told reporters after visiting the proposed site near the Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT).
Dzulkefly said the hospital’s capacity would be increased in phases from 350 to a maximum of 500 beds. Bandar Baru Enstek was selected as it is within the Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) corridor with good highway connectivity.
“The construction of the new hospital in Seremban district is a strategic government investment to strengthen the Negeri Sembilan healthcare system over the next 20 to 30 years. The Ministry of Health (MOH) will continue to work closely with the state government, relevant ministries and agencies to expedite the implementation of this project for the benefit of the people,” he said.
Dzulkefly dismissed claims that the announcement was “election candy” ahead of the state polls this Saturday, stressing it resulted from continuous efforts since 2024. He noted that Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun had raised the need for a new hospital in March 2024.
