Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed this development following his bilateral meeting with Canadian counterpart Mark Carney during the 47th ASEAN Summit.

Anwar highlighted the Petronas Liquefied Natural Gas joint venture in Canada as a strong example of mutual confidence between both nations.

The Prime Minister noted that Carney’s first official visit to Asia since taking office in March demonstrates Canada’s commitment to deeper ASEAN engagement.

Carney arrived in Malaysia on Saturday to participate in the ASEAN summits as Guest of the Chair.

His delegation included spouse Diana Fox Carney, International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu, and senior government officials.
