Tahfiz school teacher arrested for allegedly sodomising three students

PETALING JAYA: A 39-year-old Tahfiz centrel teacher has been arrested by the police in Machang, Kelantan on suspicion of sodomising three tahfiz students for the past two years.

According to Sinar Harian, the three victims, all male aged between 12 to 13 came forward to lodge a police report at the Machang police station on April 15.

Machang district police chief Supt Ahmad Shafiki Hussin said the police received the report from all three students at 12.56am.

“All victims claimed to have been sodomised by the ustaz at the tahfiz centre for the past two years,” he said in a statement, today.

Sahfiki added the police subsequently picked up the 39-year-old for further investigations with the case being investigated under Section 377C of the Penal Code for sodomy.

“The suspect has been remanded for 7 days since April 16,” he added.
