KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said preparations for Budget 2027 are still at a preliminary stage, with the government currently drafting its overarching theme ahead of its tabling in early October.

“It is still being drafted at the moment. We are only at the very early stages of planning,” he told reporters after launching the Humane Economy Global Discourse 2026 here today.
Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, did not elaborate on the government’s priorities or allocations for the upcoming budget, saying deliberations remain at an early stage.
Budget 2027 is expected to be tabled in Parliament in early October.
