Johor and Singapore prove economic success through strategic partnership

Johor Menteri Besar says JS-SEZ development shows economic success comes from strategic partnership, not competition between regions.

JOHOR BAHRU: Johor and Singapore have demonstrated that economic success stems from strategic partnership rather than regional competition.

Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi stated this collaborative approach benefits the entire region through the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone framework.

He emphasised that Johor and Singapore possess complementary competitive advantages that create stronger international economic capabilities.

Onn Hafiz welcomed Singapore’s National Development Minister Chee Hong Tat and his delegation at his official residence Saujana Johor Bahru earlier.

The JS-SEZ is expected to accelerate investment approvals and reduce trade barriers between both regions.

This initiative will expand global market access and generate more high-quality employment opportunities for citizens.

The Johor state government values Singapore’s commitment to strengthening cross-border cooperation for mutual benefit.

Onn Hafiz expressed hope that this special relationship would continue growing for a more prosperous future.

Both regions aim to build a more resilient and harmonious economic partnership through continued collaboration.
