PONTIAN: More than 3,000 people in the Pontian district were feted to a tea reception with the Sultan Ibrahim of Johor at Dataran Majlis Perbandaran Pontian here today.
Sultan Ibrahim arrived at 3.30 pm with his son Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.
Also attending the reception were Tunku Puteri Johor Tunku Tun Aminah Sultan Ibrahim and her husband Datuk Dennis Muhammad Abdullah.
At the tea get-together, His Majesty and the royal entourage spent about an hour, mingling with the people and were treated to a presention of cultural performances before they made their leave.
Also present were Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and state executive councillors and other top government officials.
The Jamuan Teh Bersama Rakyat (Tea Party with the People) is the third event after being held in Muar and Mersing, and the next one is to be held in Kluang on Dec 14.–Bernama
