All flood victims in Perak have returned home after the final relief centre in Manjung closed following safety assessments by authorities

IPOH: The final temporary flood relief centre in Perak has officially closed after all displaced residents returned to their homes.

The State Disaster Management Committee secretariat announced the closure of Sekolah Agama Rakyat Padang Serai in Manjung.

Authorities confirmed the decision followed comprehensive safety assessments by multiple government agencies.

“Joint monitoring by police, fire department, Civil Defence Force, Irrigation and Drainage Department, and local administration confirmed the flood-affected area is now secure,” the committee stated.

The statement extended appreciation to all state and federal agencies, individuals, and non-governmental organisations for their coordination during the relief operations.

This centre had provided shelter since October 23 for residents from Kampung Padang Serai.

Earlier today, 66 individuals from 17 families remained at the facility before its closure. – Bernama
