Elderly man missing while fishing found safe in Seri Kembangan

An elderly man reported missing while fishing in Seri Kembangan has been found safe after overnight search operation by fire department

SERI KEMBANGAN: An elderly man reported missing while fishing in Taman Lestari Putra has been found safe this morning.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar confirmed Saharun Hashim was located at 9.55 am today.

The man was believed to have gotten lost in a forest area near his fishing spot.

“The victim was found in good condition and handed over to the Ministry of Health Malaysia for further action,” he stated.

A search and rescue operation began after the department received a missing person report at 8.47 pm yesterday.

Eight personnel from Seri Kembangan Fire and Rescue Station responded with two engines to conduct the search.

The operation was suspended at 10 pm due to darkness and resumed at 8 am today.

“The search operation last night covered a radius of 1.5 kilometres from the location where the victim was feared missing.”

Police personnel, residents, and family members participated in the search effort. – Bernama
