Pahang government achieves RM1 billion revenue collection for fourth consecutive year, with tourism sector recording over 11 million visitors.

PAHANG: The state government has recorded RM1 billion in revenue collection for four consecutive years.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail confirmed the achievement at the launch of Visit Malaysia 2026-Pahang First.

“This afternoon, I can confirm that we have successfully achieved the revenue collection target of RM1 billion for this year,” he said.

He attributed the success to administrative efficiency and high commitment from civil servants and taxpayers.

The achievement enables the state to return surplus revenue to the people through special financial assistance.

State civil servants will receive special financial assistance equivalent to one month’s salary.

Wan Rosdy has challenged the administration to increase revenue collection to RM1.6 billion.

“If we manage to achieve RM1.6 billion, the state government will increase special financial assistance to civil servants,” he added.

Pahang’s tourism sector has also demonstrated strong performance with over 11 million visitors recorded as of September.

The state targets 13.74 million tourists next year in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026.

Early preparations and promotional efforts aim to attract both domestic and international visitors.

Main foreign tourist sources include Indonesia, Singapore, China, and European countries.

Tourist spending is estimated to reach RM13.4 billion, providing significant economic benefits to industry players. – Bernama
