Malaysia celebrated its sporting heritage and national unity through the “Walk With Al-Sultan Abdullah: The King of Sports” initiative held at Stadium Merdeka. The event was led by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and Her Royal Highness the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah. Organised by Yayasan Al-Sultan Abdullah (YASA) with ShekhinahPR, the walk brought together over 150 guests, including Malaysia’s sporting legends and former national athletes.
Among those present were Datuk Leong Mun Yee, Nor Saiful Zaini Nasiruddin, Shanti Govindasamy, Jagjit Singh, Datuk Santokh Singh, Datuk Soh Chin Ann, and Datuk Rashid Sidek. His Majesty also presented RM60,000 to Yayasan Kebajikan Atlet Kebangsaan (YAKEB) and RM40,000 to Persatuan Bekas Pemain Bola Sepak Negeri & Kebangsaan, reflecting his ongoing care for Malaysia’s sporting heroes. “This initiative is close to His Majesty’s heart, as it represents appreciation and gratitude for the athletes who have made Malaysia proud,” said a YASA representative.
