Petrol stations fined RM180,150 for illegal diesel sales in Penang

Two petrol stations and two individuals fined RM180,150 for illegal diesel sales in Seberang Perai, with jail terms for unpaid fines.

BUTTERWORTH: Two petrol stations and two individuals were fined a total of RM180,150 by the Sessions Court here today for illegal diesel sales.

Soren Service Station Sdn Bhd was fined RM72,000 for eight charges under the Control of Supply Regulations 1974.

Giantz Service Station Sdn Bhd received a RM27,000 fine for three charges.

Their director Jimmy Ng Choo Teong was fined RM51,150 for 11 charges and faces four months’ jail if he fails to pay.

Hextra Service Station owner Haris Fadhillah Mohd Rosli, 49, was fined RM30,000 for three charges with a six-month jail sentence for non-payment.

All defendants pleaded guilty to selling diesel beyond permitted quantities at petrol stations in Central and South Seberang Perai in January.

Deputy public prosecutor S Preeya Darrsini prosecuted the case.

Lawyer A Rueban Kumar represented Ng, while Haris Fadhillah was unrepresented. – Bernama
