KL police conclude investigation into “Inspector Sheila” who allegedly obstructed officers checking foreign driver, case to be referred for charges soon.
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have completed their investigation into the woman known as “Inspector Sheila” who allegedly obstructed officers conducting checks on a foreign man.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed the investigation paper is ready for submission to the deputy prosecutor’s office.
“We have completed the investigation and the investigation paper will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor for suggested charges,” he told reporters after a programme today.
The case gained attention after a video uploaded by ‘Inspector Sheila’ went viral on social media platforms.
In the video, she claimed police officers threatened a Pakistani driver during an incident on Jalan Ipoh last Tuesday.
She also accused the officers of not knowing the law and ridiculed their actions during the encounter.
Authorities are investigating the case under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a civil servant from discharging their duties.
The case is also being probed under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955. – Bernama
