M’sian man shares touching story of brother’s RM800 surprise

The Sun Webdesk

A student’s brother surprises him with RM800 when he was broke, touching hearts after the story went viral online

IMAGINE being broke and suddenly seeing a three-figure amount transferred into your bank account.

That’s exactly what happened to a man recently — and his story has warmed hearts online.

Threads user Awishy shared how his roommate, Haziq, suddenly burst into their room asking who had sent him money, knowing he was struggling financially.

After checking his transaction history, they discovered that the RM800 transfer came from Haziq’s older brother, Hafiz.

Haziq, who is still a student and not yet working, was taken aback by the unexpected gesture.

Awishy posted a screenshot of the transaction, writing, “Nice to have a brother like this. I want a brother too now.”

Netizens noticed that based on the balance shown in the screenshot, Haziq had only RM0.01 in his account before the transfer.

Many users expressed how lucky he was to have such a caring and thoughtful brother.

Comments poured in praising Hafiz for looking out for his sibling, with many calling the act “beautiful” and “heartwarming.”

Wang shines with stunning 64 as Moutai Singapore Open makes its return

Korea’s Jeunghun Wang made a statement return as he fired an eight-under-par 64 to seize the opening-day lead at the Moutai Singapore Open, marking the event’s comeback after a two-year absence. The 30-year-old carded nine birdies and a lone bogey at the Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) — hosting the tournament for the first time in 25 years. Wang, who last lifted a title almost eight years ago, said he’s eager to end his drought after a strong all-round display, especially with his “hot putting” and “solid ball-striking.” He leads by one shot ahead of Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Gunn Charoenkul, as well as Kieran Vincent from Zimbabwe, all tied at 65.
