Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek calls for public backing of Malaysia Education Plan 2026-2035 and School Curriculum 2027 reforms.
NIBONG TEBAL: Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek has called for comprehensive support from all stakeholders for the ministry’s two major national education agendas.
The Malaysia Education Plan 2026-2035 and School Curriculum 2027 aim to strengthen the country’s education system and develop a knowledgeable, competitive, and virtuous generation.
“We will start with preschool in 2026 and the agendas will directly impact our education,” she said during her speech at the SMK Methodist Nibong Tebal alumni dinner.
Fadhlina emphasised that these initiatives require collective backing from parents and the broader community.
“The efforts require everyone’s support… and the community should be together with us in the effort of strengthening, and forming the character of our children.”
The ministry will introduce comprehensive character development implementation starting in 2026 using an integrated approach through existing learning subjects.
This character-building initiative will begin with preschool children next year before expanding to primary school students.
Both education reforms represent the ministry’s ongoing commitment to enhancing Malaysia’s educational landscape and preparing future generations for global challenges. – Bernama
