Six Indian nationals detained over fellow countryman’s murder in Puchong released on police bail as investigation continues into the killing
SHAH ALAM: Six Indian nationals detained in connection with the murder of their fellow countryman in Pusat Bandar Puchong have been released on police bail.
Selangor Police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed the suspects were freed after their statements were recorded.
“The statements obtained from the arrests have not contributed to the investigation,” he told reporters.
Shazeli said all six individuals, who were housemates with one being the main suspect, have been released on police bail.
He added that the exact motive for the incident remains under investigation, with updates to be provided in due course.
The 49-year-old victim was a self-employed technician who had been living in Malaysia for 19 years.
He held Malaysian Permanent Resident status before his death.
The victim was found dead on the staircase of a shoplot in Pusat Bandar Puchong on November 6.
Serdang Police chief ACP Muhamad Farid Ahmad had earlier confirmed the victim’s background and circumstances.
Police continue to investigate the murder case despite the suspects’ release on bail. – Bernama
