KPKT clinches the 2025 National Development Award, with Desa Murni Sanggang and Kampung Jilid 8 also honoured for community projects.
PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has been crowned the winner of the National Development Award at the 2025 National Development Symposium and Awards (SPAPN).
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim presented the award at the event, which carried the theme ‘Bringing MADANI Development to the People’.
Organised by the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department (ICU JPM), SPAPN 2025 recognised outstanding contributions to national development.
Desa Murni Sanggang’s Village Development and Security Committee in Temerloh received the Best SejaTi MADANI Award for its Oyster Mushroom Cultivation Project.
Kampung Jilid 8 in Kuala Muda, together with the Attorney General’s Chambers, was selected for the Best MADANI Adopted Village Award.
ICU JPM stated that SPAPN 2025 continues an initiative introduced in 2023 through the National Development Awards (APN).
The awards aim to recognise the efforts, commitment, and successes of ministries, departments, agencies, and communities in programme or project management.
The Ministry of Communications secured second place in Category B for the Best Industrialised Building System Management Award.
Deputy Secretary-General (Telecommunications Infrastructure) Mano Verabathran congratulated the ministry’s Development Division via Facebook.
He praised the team for their “hard work and innovation in driving the national development agenda and improving the well-being of the people, in line with the Malaysia MADANI aspiration”.
SPAPN 2026 featured six award categories, including Best Development Performance, Best IBS Management, and Outcome Evaluation Awards.
The SejaTi MADANI Award, MADANI Adopted Village Award, and the main National Development Award completed the list of honours. – Bernama
