MCMC visited 359 communication device premises to promote certification and labelling, ensuring device safety and network integrity nationwide.
PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has visited 359 communication device premises nationwide to promote mandatory certification and labelling requirements.
These visits are part of the Direct Engagement programme running from June 2024 to November 2025.
MCMC stated this initiative ensures devices are safe, authentic, meet required standards, and do not interfere with network frequencies.
The commission reported positive feedback from traders who supported the on-the-ground approach and committed to compliance.
This effort reflects MCMC’s commitment to safeguarding user safety and maintaining national communications network integrity.
MCMC reminded users to purchase only certified devices bearing the official MCMC label.
Consumers can verify certification status using the Check Your Label app available on Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
By entering the MCMC Label ID, IMEI, or serial number, users can confirm device authenticity and compliance.
“For more information, please visit www.cyl.gov.my,” MCMC said.
Selling or using uncertified devices may result in fines up to RM300,000, imprisonment up to three years, or both. – Bernama
