A total of 2,364 Civil Defence Force personnel are deployed nationwide for Op Prihatin 2026 to assist motorists and ensure safer Aidilfitri journeys.

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 2,364 personnel from the Civil Defence Force (APM) have been deployed nationwide to support road users during the Aidilfitri festive period.

The operation, dubbed Op Prihatin 2026, is supported by 650 logistical assets to carry out patrols and provide emergency assistance.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic) said the deployment aims to help ensure smoother and safer journeys for Malaysians returning to their hometowns.

“As the Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Road Safety and Traffic Congestion, I urge all motorists to drive responsibly, adhere to traffic regulations and ensure their vehicles are in good condition before setting out,” he posted on Facebook.

Ahmad Zahid also advised the public to remain alert to weather conditions and heed official instructions.

The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in several areas throughout the festive season.

He stressed that safety must remain a priority for all travellers.

He added that he hoped all travellers would have a smooth journey and reach their destinations safely.
