Sweden’s Linn Grant leads by one shot after three rounds at the LPGA Annika tournament, with Jennifer Kupcho close behind in Florida
SWEDEN’S LINN GRANT fired a bogey-free five-under-par 65 to take a one-stroke lead after three rounds of the LPGA Annika tournament.
Grant’s 54-hole total of 14-under 196 gives her a narrow advantage over American Jennifer Kupcho at Pelican Golf Club.
“I’m sitting in a very uncomfortable but very nice spot,” Grant said.
The 26-year-old Swede hit 12 of 14 fairways and 17 of 18 greens in regulation during her impressive third round.
Grant is positioned to chase her second LPGA title to go with her 2023 Dana Open victory.
Kupcho also carded a bogey-free 65 to sit one shot back at 13-under 197.
The American pulled within one stroke with a tap-in birdie at the 17th after her approach shot tracked the flagstick.
“I was kind of nervous going into today,” Kupcho admitted.
Australia’s Grace Kim and Russia’s Nataliya Guseva share third place at 11-under 199.
Guseva fired a sparkling seven-under 63 that included seven birdies in her last 10 holes.
South Korea’s Ryu Hae-ran rebounded from a triple-bogey at the sixth to card a 68 and sit at 10-under 200.
Defending champion Nelly Korda posted a two-under 68 to sit six shots off the lead at eight-under 202.
Korda’s victory here last year made her the first player in 13 years to win seven titles in a season.
The world number two is still seeking her first win of the 2025 season. – AFP
