Police hunt man over teen’s confinement, sexual assault

Police are tracking down a man believed to have confined and sexually assaulted a 14-year-old boy in a Shah Alam apartment, with the victim rescued after three hours.

SHAH ALAM: Police are tracking down a man believed to have confined and sexually assaulted a 14-year-old boy in an apartment in Bukit Kemuning, Section 32, here, yesterday.

Shah Alam police chief ACP Ramsay Embol said that investigations found that the suspect is believed to have deceived the victim by offering to buy the teenager a mobile phone internet package if he helped the man lift items at his house.

“The victim was then tied up before being sexually assaulted by the suspect. While being confined and left alone in the house, the victim managed to free himself and scream for help through a window.

“The victim is believed to have been confined for about three hours before being rescued by a neighbour, who immediately contacted the police,” he said.

Ramsay also advised the public to always monitor the movements of children and reminded them not to approach strangers to avoid unwanted incidents.

“The suspect has been identified, and efforts are underway to locate the suspect. Any individual with further information regarding this incident can contact the investigating officer Inspector Mohamad Sabri Abd Rani at 017-289 2628,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Sections 342, 377C, and 323 of the Penal Code.
