SELANGOR: Orkim Bhd, a leading marine transportation company, recorded a revenue of RM88.03 million for Q1 of its financial year ending Dec 31, 2026 (FY26), representing an increase of 4.5% from the RM84.25 million recorded in Q1 of FY25.
Profit before tax (PBT) and profit after tax (PAT) were RM24.15 million and RM24.11 million, respectively, representing increases of 28.4% and 24.9% over the preceding quarter.
The fleet utilisation rate remained stable at 92%, following the successful completion of the group’s fleet-wide ballast water treatment system retrofitting programme in late 2025.
A key contributor to this quarter’s performance was MT Orkim Citrine, delivered in October 2025, which contributed positively to overall revenue and fleet efficiency.
The clean petroleum product marine transportation segment remained the group’s core revenue driver, having accounted for 93% of Q1 FY26 revenue.
Orkim CEO Captain Cheah Sin Bi said the group started the year on a strong footing, underpinned by operational resilience and the full contribution from its largest vessel, MT Orkim Citrine.
“Amid an increasingly complex global landscape, we have consistently maintained a cautious stance towards geopolitical risks. Our strategic focus on domestic and regional routes is deliberate, allowing us to steer clear of geopolitical hotspots and mitigate exposure to volatility.
“This approach underscores the strength of our business model, which is anchored on long-term, recurring contracts that provide stability and earnings visibility even during periods of market uncertainty.
“By remaining focused on our core markets, we are confident in our ability to deliver sustainable value, regardless of fluctuations in the global spot market,” he said.
Orkim operates a fleet of 18 vessels with a total deadweight tonnage (DWT) capacity of 239,186 tonnes.
This comprised 14 clean petroleum products tankers with a combined capacity of 134,684 DWT, ranging between 7,000 DWT and 15,000 DWT each, a medium-range CPP tanker with a capacity of 48,005 DWT, a medium-range chemical/petroleum tanker with a capacity of 49,999 DWT, and two liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tankers with a combined capacity of 6,498 DWT.
The vessels operate under a mix of charter agreements, serving key energy companies across Malaysia and other Asian countries, including Singapore, the Philippines, Brunei and the Far East.
With a modern fleet, strong compliance standards, and a proven track record, Orkim has established itself as a trusted leader in the marine transportation industry.
