A quick look at the photo while scrolling through Threads gives off an eerie feeling. Some might even feel unsettled, wondering whether it shows a pair of hands belonging to a creepy horror movie character or badly burnt fingers.
Surprisingly, it is neither. It is actually one of Malaysia’s most popular foods, satay, packed in a rather unusual way.
Five sticks of satay had been stuffed into a transparent plastic glove, creating the appearance of burnt fingers.
According to the Threads post, proper plastic packaging was unavailable, although no further details were shared on whether the satay had been packed by restaurant staff or prepared at home.
Netizens who came across the photo found it hilarious. Some said they were initially shocked, while others joked that it resembled third-degree burns or even the burnt hand of a corpse.
One netizen said that if he were carrying it around in public, people might think he had committed a crime.
