KUCHING: Five family members, including a baby girl, were killed in an crash along Jalan Baki Lama-Ensengei in Serian this morning.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), in a statement, said it received a call regarding the incident at 8.41 am.
According to the department, the vehicle carrying the victims crashed into a water pipe.
“The fatalities comprised an adult man, three women and a baby girl.
“The fire and rescue team extricated four adult victims from the vehicle, while the baby girl was found by members of the public near the scene and is believed to have been thrown out of the vehicle during the accident,” the statement said.
It added that all the victims were pronounced dead by medics and their bodies were handed over to the police for further action.
