Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R Ramanan says the RM50 million fund will boost TVET 2.0, empowering MSMEs and developing high-skilled talent.
PUTRAJAYA: The Human Resources Ministry (KESUMA) will put the RM50 million fund under Skill Development Fund Corporation to full use to strengthen the implementation of Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) 2.0.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R Ramanan said he was grateful and appreciated Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s announcement of the allocation to support the implementation of TVET 2.0 in conjunction with National TVET Day 2026 celebrations.
“I will ensure my ministry uses the funds fully to implement high-impact programmes to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) and help mainstream TVET as a major path for talent and career development,” he said in a statement today.
The allocation reflects the MADANI government’s continued commitment in developing the country’s future highly-skilled and resilient talent in line with industry needs, he said, adding that it was in line with the aspirations of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), the New Industrial Master Plan and the National Energy Transition Roadmap that stress on human capital development as the country’s main economic driver.
“The allocation announced by the Prime Minister will open more job opportunities to youth, workers and MSME entrepreneurs to boost skills and join high value economic sectors and help the country fill the rising need of skilled labour, strengthening Malaysia’s competitiveness as an investment destination and regional talent hub,” he said, adding that the fund will be channeled for programmes under the supervision of the National TVET Council and Skill Development Fund Corporation.
It will focus on strategic sectors including electric and electronic, green economy, blue economy and orange economy that are viewed as high potential and new growth fields.
He also welcomed the Prime Minister assertion that the allocation would need to be translated to impactful actions via close cooperation between the government, industry and training institutions.
“This synergy will ensure TVET programmes are responsive towards new technology, investor needs and the demand for local high skilled workforce. It will speed up the TVET ecosystem transformation and strengthen the Malaysia MADANI talent development agenda,” he said.
