An ambulance skids off the Kuala Kangsar-Gerik road after dropping off a patient, injuring the driver and a nurse, say police.
IPOH: An ambulance skidded off the road at Kilometre 60 of the Kuala Kangsar-Gerik Road at about 4 am today while returning after dropping off a patient at Taiping Hospital, injuring its driver and a nurse.
Gerik police chief Supt Abdul Samad Othman said the accident is believed to have occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
“The ambulance driver and one nurse sustained minor injuries, while another nurse escaped unhurt. The injured victims have received follow-up treatment, while the cause of the accident remains under investigation,” he said.
Meanwhile, a Facebook post containing a 21-second video and photographs showed the ambulance overturned by the roadside, with Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) personnel carrying out rescue operations at the scene.
The post also showed a male victim believed to have been pinned inside the vehicle.
