Construction of the new Pahang police contingent headquarters in KotaSAS can proceed after land matters are resolved, with Bukit Aman expediting the RM300 million project.
KUANTAN: Construction of the new Pahang contingent police headquarters (IPK) in KotaSAS can now proceed after all land-related matters have been resolved.
Bukit Aman Logistics and Technology Department director CP Redzuan Abd Hamid said all processes related to the project, which involves an allocation of approximately RM300 million, will be expedited in the near future to enable construction of the new headquarters to begin as soon as possible.
“Now that the land matters have been settled, several requirements must first be completed before construction of the building can commence,” he said at a press conference after the Pahang police chief handover-of-duties ceremony at the Pahang IPK in Jalan Gambut here today.
Previously, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, when tabling the Budget 2025, announced an allocation of RM2.1 billion for the construction of several police facilities, including the new Pahang IPK.
Redzuan said he hopes the project will commence soon so that police personnel can eventually work in a more comfortable and conducive environment.
At the ceremony, Pahang deputy police chief Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob was appointed acting Pahang police chief, replacing Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman, who will retire upon reaching the mandatory retirement age effective tomorrow.
Yahaya, who has served with the police force for nearly 40 years, expressed hope that Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) personnel in Pahang will continue to carry out their duties sincerely and with integrity, while also taking care of their families.
“We are often busy with assignments, meetings, operations and various commitments, but we must not neglect our families. Keep in touch with your parents and make time to visit them,” said Yahaya, who was appointed Pahang police chief in May 2023.
He said that serving as aide-de-camp to the late Sultan Ahmad Shah and the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, was the most valuable experience of his career in the police force.
“I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, who consistently provided guidance and advice during my service as his aide-de-camp and later as Pahang police chief,” he said.
