Yuto Horigome for Casio
Role: Brand ambassador
Profession: Skateboarder
At the heart of the campaign is G-Shock’s
origin story, a journey defined by
perseverance, countless prototypes and
repeated failures in pursuit of creating a
watch that would not break when
dropped, an ambition many considered
impossible at the time. That spirit of
resilience aligns closely with Yuto
Horigome’s own career. The Japanese
skateboarder made history as the first
athlete from Japan to win a Street League
Skateboarding (SLS) title and has since
claimed three consecutive SLS
championships while consistently
delivering strong performances at major
competitions, including the X Games.
Horigome also won the inaugural
Olympic gold medal in men’s street
skateboarding at the Tokyo 2020 Games
before defending his title at the Paris
2024 Olympics with a dramatic final-run
comeback. At just 27, he has established
himself as one of skateboarding’s biggest
global stars and one of Japan’s most
influential young athletes.
