Social media users unite to help return a man’s lost heart medicine, earning praise for their quick and kind actions
THANKS to social media, viral posts today are not just about likes and shares — they can create real impact by helping people in need.
Recently, a Threads user, @_ivsnaziz, shared that a man named Moorthy had accidentally left his heart medication on an LRT train after attending a check-up at Hospital Serdang.
She posted the information online and asked netizens to help locate him or his relatives, noting that the bag contained many tablets, all still new, and that heart medication is usually expensive.
With over 600 reposts and 1,600 likes, a woman believed to be a hospital staff member stepped in and provided the contact details of Moorthy’s next of kin.
In a follow-up post, @_ivsnaziz revealed that she managed to meet the uncle and return his medication.
“Thank God uncle has got his medicine back, everyone! Thank you to all of you who helped me repost and checked everywhere. You’re all awesome! Uncle has received his heart medication again. May Uncle Moorthy recover quickly and may everything be eased for him,” she wrote.
In an accompanying photo, Uncle Moorthy can be seen smiling in relief.
One user commented, “Thank God… For chronic patients like us, this medicine is like our lifeline. If the medicine goes missing, it’s a real struggle, especially if the TCA slip and card are in there too. It can really drive you to panic.”
Many praised the woman for her kindness and quick action, saying she may have saved a man’s life.
