The Baby Cosmos return with a track about inner noise and social unease
KUALA Lumpur alternative indie rock band The Baby Cosmos have released their new single In Absence, a track that blends early 2000s rock and funk influences with lyrics about social anxiety and self-judgment.

Written by Darrel Jacques and Timothy George, the song was composed collectively by the band’s full lineup, which also includes Joseph Khoo and Isra Gomez.
The track pairs upbeat instrumentation with a more introspective theme, looking at the experience of feeling unseen while also being caught in one’s own internal judgments.
Its contrast between bright, energetic arrangements and anxious lyrical ideas gives the song a slightly heavier emotional edge beneath its accessible sound.
The band is known for alternative and indie rock built around coming-of-age themes and nostalgic melodies.
The band consists of Timothy George on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Darrel Jacques on lead guitar, Joseph Khoo on bass and Isra Gomez on drums.
In Absence is available on major streaming platforms.
