An accounts executive from Penang found himself a millionaire after he struck Magnum 4D Jackpot 1 worth RM8.17 million.
The winner took home RM8,169,660 after matching the winning combination with numbers inspired by a visit he and his wife made to a Chinese fortune teller.
According to the winner, the fortune teller had encouraged him to pay attention to meaningful numbers in his life. He subsequently chose a combination based on his own IC number and his wife’s IC number, and continued playing the same numbers in every draw.
The win came to him as a surprise.
“I was completely shocked. At first, I thought it was just another small prize because I often use the MyMagnum 4D app to check my tickets.
“When I realized it was RM8.17 million, I kept checking the screen again and again to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.”
The winning numbers were 8852 and 5573, and the winning ticket was purchased at the Magnum 4D outlet in Jalan Paya Terubong, Air Itam, Penang.
He was so overcome with excitement, he addmited he barely slept that night.
Despite becoming an instant millionaire, the winner said he has no plans to leave his job. Instead, he intends to use the prize money to settle his debts, take a holiday with his wife and allow her to retire comfortably while he continues working.
A Magnum 4D spokesperson congratulated the winner, saying that many players choose numbers with personal significance.
“From an RM2 ticket to RM8.17 million, this incredible win shows that every play has its own story. Many of our customers have traditions or favourite numbers that are meaningful to them, and this winner’s experience reflects how personal every Magnum 4D journey can be,” the spokesperson said.
