GOF arrests 4,007, seizes RM1.13 billion in first half of 2026

The General Operations Force arrests 4,007 individuals and seizes RM1.13 billion in 2,866 cases across Malaysia in the first six months of 2026.

KUALA LUMPUR: The General Operations Force (GOF) arrested 4,007 individuals and recorded RM1.13 billion in seizures in 2,866 cases throughout the country in the first six months of this year.

Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department (JKDNKA) director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said that the newest operation conducted was Op Intra/Inter (Ops Block Chain/Cryptocurrency) in Petaling Jaya, Selangor from July 14 to 15.

He said the operation, with the cooperation of the Inland Revenue Board was aimed to curb activities suspected of involving leakages of the country’s revenue and financial transactions linked to crytocurrencies.

Investigations were conducted under Section 112 and 113 of the Income Tax Act 1967 and Section 4 of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing, Anti-Restricted Activity Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.

“This operation is a manifestation of the continued commitment to strengthening inter-agency enforcement to ensure all forms of financial crime and tax evasion can be curbs completely and effectively,” he said in a statement today.

Mohd Yusri said they would continue to strengthen strategic partnerships with enforcement and taxation agencies to curb financial crime that impact the national economy and ensure national revenue.

He also urged the public to continue to channel information on suspicious activities to the authorities to help curb crime and protect national interests.
