Three motorcyclists killed in separate Johor road accidents

Two motorcyclists died in Muar expressway collision, while elderly rider killed in Kota Tinggi morning crash. Both cases under Section 41(1) investigation

JOHOR BAHRU: Three motorcyclists lost their lives in separate accidents across Johor within hours of each other.

Two young men died in a multi-vehicle collision on the North-South Expressway near Muar on Wednesday night.

Muar police chief ACP Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz confirmed the victims, aged 20 and 24, sustained fatal head and body injuries in the 11 pm incident.

The accident unfolded when a 20-year-old motorcyclist crashed into the rear right side of a lorry at KM133.7 northbound.

After losing control, he veered into the right lane and skidded, causing two following motorcycles to strike him from behind.

One of these motorcycles was ridden by the 24-year-old victim who also perished in the collision.

Meanwhile, Kota Tinggi witnessed another fatal motorcycle accident on Thursday morning.

A 75-year-old man died after his motorcycle skidded and crashed at Jalan Waha, Felda Bukit Waha.

Kota Tinggi police chief Supt Yusof Othman said authorities were alerted to the incident at 7 am.

“The victim, who was riding a Honda Wave motorcycle, suffered severe head injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene,” he stated.

The elderly man was returning home from Masjid Jamek Felda Waha when the accident occurred.

Both cases are being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. – Bernama
