2026 Honda City facelift launched in Thailand, from an equivalent to RM70k

For Thailand, the 2026 Honda City continues to be offered with two powertrain options, namely the 1.0-litre VTEC Turbo petrol engine and the 1.5-litre e:HEV hybrid system.

The 2026 Honda City facelift has been launched in Thailand. This is the second facelift for the current-generation Honda City, with Thailand being one of the first markets in the region to receive the updated B-segment model.

For Thailand, the 2026 Honda City continues to be offered with two powertrain options, namely the 1.0-litre VTEC Turbo petrol engine and the 1.5-litre e:HEV hybrid system. However, the turbo engine is now limited to the entry-level S variant, while the rest of the line-up is made up of e:HEV hybrid variants.

For the sedan, prices start from THB 569,000, around RM 70k, for the Turbo S. The new e:HEV V is priced at THB 619,000, around RM 76k, followed by the e:HEV SV at THB 689,000, around RM 85k, and the e:HEV RS at THB 739,000, around RM 91k.

The hatchback carries a THB 10,000 premium across the range. It starts from THB 579,000, around RM 71k, for the Turbo S, followed by the e:HEV V at THB 629,000, around RM 77k, e:HEV SV at THB 699,000, around RM 86k, and e:HEV RS at THB 749,000, around RM 92k.

As seen in the debut in India, the facelift brings new projector lens headlights, a connecting LED light bar on selected variants, a redesigned front grille, new front and rear bumpers, redesigned 16-inch alloy wheels, a new monochrome Honda logo and smoked clear-lens taillights.

The e:HEV RS gets a gloss black grille, RS-style front and rear bumpers, side skirts, a rear skirt and RS-style rear spoiler, along with 16-inch dark grey two-tone alloy wheels. The e:HEV SV also gets the connecting LED light bar and clear-lens LED taillights, while the lower variants receive simpler exterior treatments.

Inside, the 2026 City facelift gains an updated infotainment setup, depending on variant. The S and e:HEV V get an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the e:HEV SV and e:HEV RS receive the larger 10-inch Advanced Touch display, also with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The equipment split differs quite clearly across the line-up. The new e:HEV V adds features such as a 7-inch display, electric parking brake, Auto Brake Hold, Walk Away Auto Lock, remote engine start, Honda Smart Key System and steering-mounted deceleration paddle selectors.

Moving up to the e:HEV SV adds the 10-inch touchscreen, blue ambient lighting, automatic air-conditioning, rear air vents, leather and synthetic leather upholstery, two front USB-A ports, two rear USB-C ports and a 360-degree surround view camera.

The e:HEV RS remains the most fully equipped variant, adding black leather and synthetic leather upholstery with red stitching, red ambient lighting, an RS-style 7-inch instrument display, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, wireless phone charger, eight speakers, Honda LaneWatch and six airbags. Lower variants get four airbags.

The 1.0-litre VTEC Turbo engine is unchanged, producing 122 PS at 5,500 rpm and 173 Nm from 2,000 to 4,500 rpm. It is paired with a CVT automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.

The e:HEV uses a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder petrol engine paired with Honda’s two-motor hybrid system. The petrol engine produces 98 PS from 5,600 to 6,400 rpm and 127 Nm from 4,500 to 5,000 rpm, while the electric motor produces 109 PS from 3,500 to 8,000 rpm and 253 Nm from 0 to 3,000 rpm. Power is sent through an e-CVT, with a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 9.4 seconds.

According to Honda Thailand’s brochure, the City sedan measures 4,577 mm long for the S, e:HEV V and e:HEV SV variants, while the e:HEV RS is slightly longer at 4,594 mm due to its bumper design. Width is 1,748 mm, while height is listed at 1,467 mm for the S and 1,480 mm for the e:HEV variants. Wheelbase remains 2,589 mm across the range.

For the City Hatchback, the body measures 4,369 mm long, 1,748 mm wide and 1,501 mm tall, with the same 2,589 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is listed at 147 mm, while fuel tank capacity is 40 litres.

Honda Sensing remains part of the safety package across the range. The system includes Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning, Auto High Beam, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lead Car Departure Notification.

For e:HEV variants, Adaptive Cruise Control also includes Low Speed Follow. Depending on variant, the City also gets Honda LaneWatch, a 360-degree camera system and a rear-view camera with three viewing angles.

There is no word yet on when the 2026 Honda City facelift will arrive in Malaysia. The current Honda City range in Malaysia is priced from RM 84,900 to RM 99,900 for the petrol variants, while the City e:HEV RS is priced at RM 111,900.
