Malaysia’s Izat Zaki beat Indonesia’s Brian Lawitan by unanimous decision for Fury Muay Thai lightweight title.
SEREMBAN: Malaysian Muay Thai star Izat Zaki claimed the Fury Muay Thai Lightweight Championship title in the 61kg category after defeating Indonesia’s Brian Lawitan by unanimous decision in the main event of Fury Championship Vol. II at Karisma Arena here.
Izat was declared the winner after five hard-fought rounds against Brian, better known as “The Spoiled Boy”, in a highly anticipated Malaysia-Indonesia showdown that had been in the making since last year.
“Alhamdulillah, I am grateful for the unanimous decision victory after five rounds. Brian is a very good and experienced opponent, and this is a fight we have both been looking forward to since last year.
“Although I won, I know there is still plenty for me to improve on after being away from competition for quite some time. This victory motivates me to raise my performance and prepare even better for future tournaments,” said Izat.
He also thanked the fans who packed Karisma Arena, as well as those who watched the event via the pay-per-view (PPV) broadcast.
“Thank you to everyone who came to Karisma Arena and to those who supported me through the PPV broadcast. Your encouragement and belief mean a great deal to me,” he said.
The victory marked another milestone for Izat in the Fury Championship, having also won the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2025.
Meanwhile, Brian accepted the result graciously and acknowledged that Izat’s extensive Muay Thai experience had been a key advantage.
Brian said Fury Championship Vol. II was his first experience competing under Muay Thai rules and that it had provided valuable lessons to improve his performance.
“I admit that Izat is the more experienced Muay Thai fighter. This was my first time competing in this discipline, so I learned many new things throughout the bout.
“Although the result did not go my way, the experience was invaluable. I respect Izat for his victory and will return to training to improve my weaknesses before competing again,” he said.
In another title bout, Arfiqanie Ahmad Anshori, known as Putih “Pretty Boy”, defeated Indonesia’s Ilham “Flanker” Loeisa to win the OPBF Silver Super Lightweight Championship.
Overall, the second edition of Fury Championship featured 13 bouts involving local and international fighters across Muay Thai and professional boxing disciplines.
Fury Championship chief executive officer Mohd Wafiy Ilhan Johan expressed his appreciation to the event’s sponsors, fans and fighters for making the tournament a success.

Fury Championship Vol. II provided a competitive platform for Malaysian fighters to test themselves against international opponents while expanding fans’ access to combat sports through pay-per-view (PPV) broadcasts on the Tonton platform.
