Steven Sim salur RM207,000 untuk naik taraf SMK Bukit Mertajam

Menteri Sumber Manusia Steven Sim salur peruntukan RM207,000 untuk naik taraf kemudahan digital di SMK Bukit Mertajam, termasuk bilik darjah STEM.

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Menteri Sumber Manusia Steven Sim Chee Keong telah menyalurkan peruntukan RM207,000 untuk menaik taraf kemudahan pembelajaran digital dan keperluan di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bukit Mertajam.

Peruntukan itu merangkumi sumbangan tahun lepas sebanyak RM107,000 untuk projek Bilik Darjah Digital Sains, Teknologi, Kejuruteraan dan Matematik (STEM) Fasa 1.

Fasa 1 melibatkan pembelian papan pintar dan pemasangan alat penyaman udara.

Peruntukan tahun ini pula adalah untuk meneruskan Fasa 2 projek yang sama.

Sim yang juga Ahli Parlimen Bukit Mertajam memberikan komitmen tambahan sebanyak RM200,000 khusus untuk pembelian papan pintar tambahan.

Komitmen ini bertujuan melengkapkan semua bilik darjah di SMK Bukit Mertajam dengan teknologi tersebut.

“Apa saya berikan tidak besar, tetapi saya harap sumbangan ini boleh menjadi pemangkin yang menggalakkan alumni SMK Bukit Mertajam untuk memberi kembali kerana pendidikan pelaburan terpenting untuk generasi akan datang,” katanya.

Penyerahan sumbangan telah dibuat baru-baru ini di sekolah berkenaan.

Majlis penyerahan dihadiri oleh Pengetua Saniza Matt Lazim dan Yang Dipertua Persatuan Ibu Bapa dan Guru (PIBG) S. Sivaji Arumugam.

SMK Bukit Mertajam yang berusia 61 tahun mempunyai 967 pelajar dan 79 petugas.
