National bowler Aiman Syahin aims for a podium finish at the Storm U22 International Junior All-Star Championship in Sunway Megalanes.
NATIONAL bowling ace Aiman Syahin Sulaiman is targeting a podium finish at the upcoming Storm U22 International Junior All-Star Championship.
The tournament will be held at Sunway Megalanes from December 3 to 14.
Aiman Syahin will compete in both the Boys Open and Super Junior categories.
He revealed he has been preparing intensively for what he considers one of his season’s most significant events.
“For me, the Junior All-Stars is a huge tournament, recognised by the IBF and ABF,” he said during the championship’s press conference.
“So, I will try my best to get a podium finish.”
The 25th edition continues to attract strong international interest with over 800 entries from 16 countries.
Major contingents include Singapore (288), South Korea (82), Australia (45) and Japan (25).
Malaysia’s challenge in the Boys and Girls Open divisions will be spearheaded by national youth standouts.
These include Ethan Damien Goh, Aiman Syahin, Wan Zarif Ikram Wan Mazlan and Adelia Nur Irwan Syazalee.
The championship has strengthened its status as the region’s richest junior tournament.
This year’s record prize purse is RM265,800, an increase of RM58,700 or 22% from last year.
Sunway Megalanes director Foong Tak Meng said the Silver Jubilee edition marked a significant milestone.
He noted how the tournament had grown into one of Asia’s most important platforms for junior development.
“From proven champions like Rafiq Ismail to rising stars such as Ethan Damien Goh, so many Malaysian talents began their journey right here,” Foong said.
“Some started as early as our Under-12 and Under-15 divisions, which remain a rare feature among major junior events.”
“Even global icons like Australia’s Jason Belmonte competed here during the formative years of his career.”
“That legacy speaks volumes of how far this championship has come, and we are committed to raising the bar even higher as we celebrate our Silver Jubilee edition.
