Former PM’s aide Shamsul Iskandar questioned by MACC over corruption allegations made by businessman Albert Tei, following his recent resignation.
PUTRAJAYA: Former senior political secretary to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, presented himself at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters to have his statement recorded.
His appearance follows corruption allegations made by businessman Albert Tei.
Sources confirmed Shamsul Iskandar arrived at the MACC headquarters around noon.
The commission stated that apart from Tei and Shamsul Iskandar, the woman featured in a viral conversation with Tei had also given her statement.
Shamsul Iskandar announced his resignation as senior political secretary to the Prime Minister on November 25.
MACC had previously confirmed launching an investigation into the corruption allegations involving both Tei and Shamsul Iskandar.
The commission stated that all relevant parties would be summoned to provide evidence.
