SarawakPass and MyDigital ID integration strengthens digital identity ecosystem, enabling cross-platform access to state and federal government services.
KUCHING: The Sarawak government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Cyber Security Agency to integrate SarawakPass with MyDigital ID.
This strategic collaboration aims to strengthen the digital identity ecosystem at both state and federal levels.
Sarawak Utilities and Telecommunications Minister Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi described the move as vital for enhancing digital trust and cybersecurity.
“This marks an important advancement in developing a safe, trusted and integrated national digital identity ecosystem,” he told reporters after the signing ceremony.
The integration will enable SarawakPass users to access federal government services requiring MyDigital ID verification.
Similarly, MyDigital ID users can access services provided through the SarawakPass platform.
SarawakPass, introduced this year as a rebranding of SarawakID, now has over 1.8 million registered users.
The platform offers faster access, single sign-on capability and integrated digital services for Sarawak residents.
MyDigital ID, launched in 2023 under the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint, currently has almost six million users.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and NACSA executive chief Dr Megat Zuhairy Megat Tajuddin signed the agreement.
