Negeri Sembilan Health Department confiscates over RM80,000 in unregistered health and cosmetic items from eight premises following public complaints.
SEREMBAN: The Negeri Sembilan Health Department has seized unregistered health and cosmetic products valued at over RM80,000.
A raid conducted by the Pharmacy Enforcement Division at eight premises yesterday yielded 200 types of suspected illegal products.
The confiscated items included scheduled poisons and unnotified cosmetics.
The department stated that the outlets were popular with consumers, particularly non-citizens.
These offences constitute a breach of national drug and cosmetic regulations.
Individuals found guilty face fines of up to RM25,000 or imprisonment for up to three years.
Companies can be fined up to RM50,000 for similar violations.
Violations under the Poisons Act carry penalties of up to five years’ jail, a fine, or both.
The public is urged to verify product registration status via the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) website.
Dubious products can be reported through the Public Complaints Management System (SisPAA), the hotline 03-7841 3200, or any local Pharmacy Enforcement Division office.
