Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor expresses satisfaction with the organised voting process and hopes voters will fulfill their responsibility to vote.
TUARAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor expressed satisfaction with the smooth and organised voting process in the 17th Sabah state election.
The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah chairman, who is contesting the Sulaman seat, noted that harmony was maintained despite many candidates competing.
Hajiji remained optimistic that voters would fulfill their responsibility by voting across all 73 state constituencies.
He observed good weather conditions in Tuaran while acknowledging possible afternoon rain according to forecasts.
“We hope that registered voters in Sabah will come out to vote early to fulfill their responsibility,” he told reporters at Sekolah Kebangsaan Serusup polling station.
Hajiji cast his vote at 11.42 am accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Juliah Salag.
The Sulaman constituency features a five-cornered contest for Hajiji.
His opponents include Barisan Nasional’s Dr Shahnon Rizal, Parti Warisan’s Mokhtar Hussin, Perikatan Nasional’s Tiaminah @ Siti Aminah Ele, and Parti Impian Sabah’s Pajudin Nordin.
Hajiji previously won the Sulaman seat with a 3,099-vote majority in the 16th Sabah state election.
He has defended the constituency for more than three decades.
Sulaman has 18,352 registered voters for this election. – Bernama
