The search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 will restart on December 30, focusing on high-probability areas for 55 days
PUTRAJAYA: The deep-sea search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 will resume on December 30 this year.
The Transport Ministry said Ocean Infinity has confirmed it will recommence seabed search operations for a total of 55 days.
“The search will focus on targeted areas assessed to have the highest probability of locating the aircraft,” the ministry said in a statement.
It added that the latest development underscores the government’s commitment to providing closure to the families affected by this tragedy.
Flight MH370 disappeared from radar on March 8, 2014, while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board.
Despite one of the most extensive multinational search operations in aviation history, the aircraft was not found within the primary search zone in the southern Indian Ocean.
Over the years, several pieces of debris confirmed or believed to be from MH370 were discovered along coastlines in the western Indian Ocean. – Bernama
