Negeri Sembilan allocates RM1 million for a new RM1,000 one-time aid for all state-born cancer patients, usable for medicine and transport
SEREMBAN: The Negeri Sembilan state government has allocated RM1 million for a new initiative called KanserCare, providing a one-time RM1,000 financial assistance to cancer patients.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the aid is open to any cancer patient born in Negeri Sembilan, with applications starting next year.
“This assistance can be used to buy medication, food and beverages, or to cover transportation costs when seeking treatment,” he said.
Aminuddin clarified that the aid is not limited to the B40 group but is for all state-born cancer patients certified eligible by a doctor.
He said the initiative was introduced due to the increasingly worrying number of cancer cases in the state.
The Sikamat assemblyman added that other incentives under the state’s Welfare and Health Pillar will continue with a total allocation of RM2.34 million.
These include RM500,000 for AV Fistula surgery assistance for underprivileged patients.
Other programmes are the ‘Sentuhan Prihatin’ assistance for Persons with Disabilities (RM220,000), the Rumah Minda Ceria programme (RM120,000) and orthopaedic implant aid (RM500,000).
Earlier, Aminuddin tabled the Negeri Sembilan Budget 2026, amounting to RM640 million.
The budget includes RM150 million for development expenditure, with a projected deficit of RM30 million. – Bernama
