Kampung Sawah Raja receives RM1 million in upgrades under MADANI scheme

Kampung Sawah Raja benefits from RM1 million in infrastructure projects, including a community hall and solar streetlights, as a MADANI Adopted Village

REMBAU: Kampung Sawah Raja has received local infrastructure upgrades worth RM1 million after being selected as a Kampung Angkat MADANI (MADANI Adopted Village).

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the initiative ensures equitable development access for all communities, especially in rural areas.

Projects completed include the construction of a community hall, a futsal court, and a multi-purpose hall.

Upgrades have also been made to the local surau and mosque within the village.

Stand-alone solar-powered streetlights have been installed to illuminate pathways without grid electricity.

New roads have been built to shorten travel times for residents commuting to nearby villages.

“Alhamdulillah, this is a commendable effort made possible through the cooperation of all parties,” Mohamad said.

He said the cooperation ensures government initiatives are realised for rural communities to enjoy development.

The minister spoke after officiating the launch of the Foreign Ministry’s Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations MADANI Adopted Village programme.

Mohamad, who is also the Rembau MP, said this is the second such initiative in the district.

Kampung Kancung Rantau received similar benefits under the programme last year. – Bernama
