Man killed as piling machine crushes 4WD in Sarawak

A 31-year-old man died after his four-wheel drive was crushed by a piling machine in Kampung Peruan, Lawas, Sarawak

LAWAS: A man died after being trapped in his four-wheel drive which was crushed by a piling machine in northern Sarawak.

The incident occurred this afternoon in Kampung Peruan, Long Tuma, Lawas.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre identified the victim as 31-year-old Bili Muli.

He was found trapped in the driver’s seat and was confirmed dead by medical officers from Lawas Hospital.

The operations centre received a call about the incident at 4.55 pm.

An Operations Response Team from the Lawas Fire and Rescue Station was immediately mobilised.

The team of six personnel and machinery covered a distance of eight kilometres, arriving at the scene by 5.03 pm.

Firefighters used special road traffic accident equipment to cut the vehicle and remove the trapped victim.

The victim’s body was subsequently handed over to the police for further action. – Bernama
