Sultan of Selangor confers state honours on 98 recipients for birthday

Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah awards 98 state honours, including to his daughter Tengku Zerafina, top officials and corporate leaders

KLANG: The daughter of the Sultan of Selangor, Tengku Zerafina, led a list of 98 individuals receiving state awards in conjunction with His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah’s 80th birthday.

Tengku Zerafina was conferred the Darjah Kerabat Selangor Yang Dihormati (D.K.II) during an investiture ceremony at the Balairung Seri, Istana Alam Shah.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Sunway Group founder Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah Fook Ling received the Darjah Kebesaran Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (S.P.M.S.), which carries the title ‘Datuk Seri’.

The Darjah Kebesaran Dato’ Setia-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (S.S.I.S.) was awarded to Selangor Islamic Religious Council deputy chairman Tan Sri Mazlan Mansor and YTL Corporation executive director Datuk Mark Yeoh Seok Kah.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil headed 16 recipients of the Darjah Kebesaran Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Selangor (D.P.M.S.).

Other D.P.M.S. recipients included Selangor state financial officer Datuk Dr Haniff Zainal Abidin and Road Transport Department director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli.

Federal Court judge Datuk Azizah Omar and Court of Appeal judge Ong Chee Kwan were also among the honourees.

Seventeen individuals received the Darjah Kebesaran Dato’-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (D.S.I.S.), including Army Academy commandant Brig Gen Mohd Sauffi Omar.

Petaling Jaya City Council mayor Mohamad Zahri Samingon and renowned artist Yusof Ghani were also conferred the D.S.I.S. award.

National bodybuilder Ahmad Faiz Ariffin received the Ahli Kegemilangan Sukan Selangor (A.K.S.).

Ten individuals involved in the Putra Heights gas pipeline explosion operation received the Darjah Kebesaran Setia Mahkota Selangor (S.M.S.).

Another ten recipients were conferred the Darjah Kebesaran Setia-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (S.I.S.), including Subang Jaya police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat.

Fifteen people received the Darjah Kebesaran Ahli Mahkota Selangor (A.M.S.), while another fifteen were awarded the Darjah Kebesaran Ahli-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (A.I.S.).
