PGA Sarawak rampas barangan tidak bercukai bernilai RM9.9 juta

Pasukan Gerakan Am Sarawak merampas barangan tidak bercukai bernilai RM9.9 juta dan menahan 58 suspek dalam operasi di seluruh negeri.

KUCHING: Pasukan Gerakan Am (PGA) Briged Sarawak merampas pelbagai barangan tidak bercukai bernilai RM9.9 juta dalam satu siri operasi di seluruh negeri.

Operasi Op Taring Alpha, Op Taring Bravo dan Op Taring Batas dijalankan dari 26 November hingga 16 Disember.

Seramai 58 individu berjaya ditahan, melibatkan lelaki dan wanita warga tempatan serta warga asing berusia antara 16 hingga 74 tahun.

Komander Briged Sarawak SAC Lim Bak Phai berkata rampasan terbesar berlaku pada 26 November di Miri.

“Dalam operasi berkenaan, polis merampas 4,909 karton rokok, 12,586 liter minuman keras, serta dua buah kenderaan,” katanya dalam satu kenyataan.

Empat lelaki dan dua wanita warga tempatan turut ditahan atas syak menjalankan aktiviti penjualan barangan tidak bercukai.

Kesemua tangkapan dan rampasan telah diserahkan kepada Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah Miri untuk siasatan lanjut di bawah Akta Kastam 1967.

Rampasan kedua terbesar berlaku pada 5 Disember dengan anggaran nilai RM1.6 juta.

Polis merampas 3,644 karton rokok, 1,061.4 liter minuman keras dan sejumlah mercun pelbagai jenis.

Dua kenderaan juga dirampas hasil serbuan ke atas tujuh premis di seluruh Sarawak.
