Police are investigating after a body was discovered inside a bag at an unoccupied house in Pedas, Negeri Sembilan.
PEDAS: Police have confirmed the discovery of a body inside a bag at a vacant house in Kampung Batu 4 here.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the gender and identity of the deceased have yet to be determined.
The body has been sent to Rembau Hospital for a post-mortem to establish the cause of death.
The discovery was made early in the morning.
The daughter of the house owner, a woman in her 30s, said she was informed of the incident by her aunt via a phone call at about 4 am.
She expressed shock as the house had been vacant for about two years.
Her last visit to the premises was on December 4.
“My aunt told me the police requested permission to inspect the house belonging to my late mother,” she said.
“I arrived around 9 am, but the police were already on scene, and I was not allowed to enter.”
The woman, who lives in Chembong, said she only visits the house to check the overgrown grass at the back.
She had planned to gather her siblings to clean the house, but that had to be postponed due to frequent rain.
