PAS terminates membership of three Perlis state assemblymen with immediate effect, citing constitutional clauses and loss of confidence in MB.
KANGAR: PAS has terminated the membership of three of its Perlis state assemblymen with immediate effect.
The decision is based on Clause 76 and Clause 15A(1)(b) of the PAS Constitution (2025 Amendment).
PAS President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang identified the assemblymen as Chuping’s Saad Seman, Bintong’s Fakhrul Anwar Ismail, and Guar Sanji’s Mohd Ridzuan Hashim.
He stated the decision was made during the PAS Central Working Committee meeting held today.
“PAS will officially notify the Speaker of the Perlis State Legislative Assembly of this decision for the purpose of fulfilling Article 50A(1)(a)(ii) of the Laws of the Constitution of Perlis (Amendment) Enactment 2022 immediately,” he said.
The move follows allegations that Perikatan Nasional state assemblymen in Perlis met with the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail.
A majority were said to have expressed a loss of confidence and withdrawn support for Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli.
